Let’s Have Some Fun – Video for WordPress Tutorial
Have you ever wanted to add video to your website or blog page? Well, it’s SO possible…and it’s never been easier. If you can cut and paste and follow a few simple steps you can add video to your website.
I have created just for you my lovely WPAer a short (less than 10 min.) video that shows you step by step how to add video to your webpage.
In my example you will use YouTube (for FREE my peep!) to host your video and then you will embed the video into your WordPress blog page. In the video I show you that if you have a Gmail account, you already have a YouTube account!
If you don’t have a Gmail account, you can go directly to YouTube.com and create an account with any email you want and then just follow the rest of the steps.
I really adore the internet (if you have spent any time with me you know that). I love it because it is a place of constant innovation and exciting advancements. One advancement I am super excited about is how easy it is for people to create and share videos. And this is so exciting because the power of video is undeniable. It connects with your ideal clients in ways that just text and images cannot.
If you have a smart phone, a little creativity and the will you CAN create video content that will convert prospects to clients. How awesome is that?!?
Video: Not Reserved for the Big Boyz Anymore
Just a few years ago this medium of communication was reserved for businesses with major $’s to invest in video projects. Now people are finding new and really cool ways to use video on their websites and spending minimal $’s to do it.
For instance you can create your own weekly web series, how to videos, interviews (with your pretty face showing), show and tell (where you can really show what’s happening), animations of a system or process, webinars, the possibilities are limited only by your imagination.
This can be a way to grow your business in a huge way, share your passion with more people and have fun doing it.
Basically you no longer need a developer to access the code of your webpage or to install and setup a plugin. WordPress and YouTube (you could do the same thing with Vimeo.com or Wistia.com) have made it sooooo very easy. If you aren’t using video on your website yet, watch the video below and you are going to want to try out your new SKILLZ soon:)
Three Reasons Why Video Rocks!
1. Video Makes Your Peeps Want Hang Out. Videos provide a multi-dimensional experience for your ideal clients. You can use videos to highlight promotions, provide tutorials, and actually show your customers how your products look or function. Because the videos are so engaging it encourages your ideal clients to hang out longer and click more buttons and that is a really great thing. It allows you to convey the information you are hoping to in a creative way before the prospect clicks away from your website.
2. Upselling through Videos Works. It is a fact that you can convey more information in a shorter amount of time in a video. What’s so cool about that is the reader doesn’t have to read or jump between pages. Instead the client is fed the information you want them to receive with visuals to support what they are learning.
There are so many different types of learners out there, from auditory to visual to tactile. Video makes all three possible. Video is not “passive”, it allows you to direct the user to exactly where you want them to go by including clickable links throughout or at the end of your video. You can use these links to upsell and cross sell or just keep them going through your sales funnel. YouTube makes it really easy to add links now through their “annotations” functionality.
3. Videos Help You Get Found and Drive Traffic. By adding the right SEO (search engine optimization) tags like I show you in the video below you have a really great chance of getting found with your selected keywords. And search engines now offer video as part of their search results and they put them before all the other results! YouTube is the number #2 most searched website on the internet. People search YouTube to find out about all kinds of topics. So by hosting your videos on YouTube you are giving yourself an extra special opportunity to be found and to drive traffic back to your website.
